NCEO Visits Kurt Manufacturing

On March 4, 2019, Kurt Manufacturing hosted Corey Rosen, Founder of the National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO) and Drew Halunen, Senior Communications Advisor for US Senator and Presidential candidate, Amy Klobuchar. The day’s agenda included an introduction to Kurt and its Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) as well as a tour of Kurt’s Minneapolis manufacturing operation.

Kurt became 100% employee owned in 2011 after William Kuban, Kurt’s owner, sold his remaining shares to the ESOP as part of an ownership succession plan. Since 2011, Kurt’s ESOP has distributed over 147,000 shares to Kurt’s employee owners. Kurt employees have over $8MM in ESOP retirement benefits funded by the company as part of the company’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
